Don't hit the snooze button on your alarm clock if you want to be thinner and happier, scientists have claimed.

5 a" X" w8 p# [) d" `! DResearch suggests that early risers are slimmer, happier and healthier than those who get up later in the day. Late nights seems to take their toll on health and happiness.

# e Z5 B/ ^1 L" A0 J7 E3 y, ASome 13 percent of those questioned were larks, getting up before 7am during the week and seeing no need for a lie-in at the weekend.

3 G& p. k: U3 C9 dNight owls, who fall out of bed just before 9am Monday to Friday and sleep in on Saturdays and Sundays, accounted for another 6 percent.

The analysis revealed the early risers to have fewest signs of depression and anxiety. They were also more likely to eat breakfast – something that has been linked with slimness. |
